Using the NanoGrip

How do I get the most out of my NanoGrip?

Before the first use

Before placing the NanoGrip anti-slip mat, make sure that the surface is clean and dry.

Vinyl treated surfaces can advantageously be washed with a wet cloth and then wiped clean with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.

Once the surface has been cleaned thoroughly, place the NanoGrip sticky mat onto the desired area and press it down firmly.

Now place your remote control, mouse, smartphone or GPS navigation unit onto the anti-slip, NanoGrip pad – press the article down lightly while turning it slightly to ensure maximum grip on the sticky pad.

Placing items on the Nano-Grip dashboard pad

The NanoGrip sticky pad works via a micro-suction principle, so when placing items be sure to press them firmly onto the dashboard pad, while twisting the item a little. This will ensure that it sticks fully to the dashboard pad.

Twist – Don’t pull!

To remove an object from the dashboard mat, twist the object slightly to break the “vacuum effect” while you lift it off.  Do this to ensure that possible loose parts do not get stuck onto the sticky pad.

When placing items with moveable parts onto the NanoGrip sticky pad (for instance the camera cover of some models of the Sony Ericsson Smartphones) these can become stuck onto the NanoGrip sticky mat.  To avoid this, twist the item lightly while slowly pulling it off the NanoGrip sticky pad.

Give it a quick shower from time to time

If your NanoGrip sticky mat becomes dirty or dusty, it will lose some of its stickiness.

Simply rinse it under lukewarm water and air dry the anti-slip mat – this will make it regain its full stickiness and can, therefore, be used over and over again.

Do not wipe it off with a towel or paper as this will leave small amounts of lint on it, decreasing the stickiness.

In some cases, for instance, if the NanoGrip has accumulated very fine particles of dirt or dust – you may need to rub it while rinsing it.  You can also stretch it a little as you rinse it, to make sure the water gets into the microscopic crevices of the pad.

Placement – Go’s and No Go’s

When placing the NanoGrip sticky mat on porous surfaces such as wallpaper or similar areas, be aware that there is a risk that the NanoGrip sticky pad can strip material or paper off the surface.  A way to test the surface is to place a strip of duct tape on it and see if it tears the surface when removing it.

We recommend that you place the NanoGrip anti-slip mat in angles over 90 degrees, since items placed onto a vertical NanoGrip sticky mat (or upside down) may fall off over time.

Do not place the NanoGrip where it is exposed to prolonged periods of direct sunlight as the UV rays may damage the NanoGrip and cause it to lose its shape and deteriorate.

If the NanoGrip is placed stationary on the same spot, take it off and move it to a new spot every month or two.

Be careful when placing objects onto the NanoGrip sticky pad that can be damaged by falling down, if your NanoGrip sticky mat is dusty or dirty.

Do Not

Do not place your NanoGrip dashboard pad over Air Bag release areas, as you may risk injury.  Should the Air Bag deploy it could launch items placed upon the sticky pad it towards you.

Avoid exposing the NanoGrip dashboard pad to prolonged periods of direct sunlight as the UV rays of the sun may cause the NanoGrip to lose its shape and deteriorate.

AND NO, YOU CAN’T USE the NanoGrip sticky pad to climb the walls like SpiderMan – You will hurt yourself and the furniture. We tried it, it didn’t work, so just don’t do it!!
